Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU)

The CFMU is the operational unit of EUROCONTROL.

Our mission is to enhance safety through co-ordinated management of the air traffic in Europe and to ensure congestion in the air does not occur and that available capacity is used effectively.

New Functions in CFMU for improving flight efficiency and reducing fuel emissions
New functions are established within the Operations Room in Brussels:
The Military Liaison Officer function (MILO) and the Flight Efficiency Support function.

Pan-European Network Service is on its way
PENS, the pan-European communications network service that will allow all air traffic control navigation service providers to exchange voice and data communications in a seamless and integrated manner, has been launched jointly by EUROCONTROL, SITA, AENA (Spain), NAVIAIR (Denmark) and LFV (Sweden) on 28 October 2009.
