IFPS and Flight Planning Course

Purpose

To obtain the theoretical background and practical training for the Integrated Initial Flight Plan Processing System.

Intended Audience

Anybody filing FPLs to IFPS.

Course Content

First part:
  • Theoretical and interactive Web Based Training module via the internet, explaining the general principles for flight planning in IFPS and RPL.
  • THIS MODULE IS A PREREQUISITE BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO REGISTER FOR THE SECOND.
Second part:
  • Classroom training at the Eurocontrol premises in Brussels
  • IFPS WBT review
  • Flight plan case studies
  • Visit to IFPS
  • Exercises using IFPUV
  • Future developments in flight planning

Duration

First part:
  • The WBT via internet will take around 2 to 3 hours to finish. It must be completed before you are allowed to register for the second part.
Second part:
  • One day course starting at 09:00 and finishing at 17:00 (CET).
    Due to the precise schedule it is essential for participants to arrive before 09:00 at the Eurocontrol reception.

  • Both courses are in English.
  • For the second part a maximum of two participants from one company per classroom course are allowed.
  • Minimum elapse time between 2 IFPS courses is 1 year
  • The classroom courses are given by IFPS instructors.
  • Please be aware that we will check if, not when, the first part has been completed!

  • If you have not registered for the first part, your application for the second part will be rejected.
